So very long...

I haven't posted to this blog in so very long I had forgotten I even had it. Since I am staying home with Jane again, I have a good bit of time on my hands and thought I might try to revive it. To make a long story short, in November of 2008 on Halloween night, we moved to Columbia, South Carolina from Houston, Texas and then a few months after that, Will lost his job and we were basically unemployed for three months. He finally found a good job here in Charlotte, North Carolina so that is where we have been for the last two months. We like it here in Charlotte even though we are still incredibly broke and reeling from the whole no money, no insurance experience. We are down to only one car and so most days I am home with a four year old and no car and no money to do anything anyway. We can't even go to the library because I still have a South Carolina driver's license. Things aren't all bad though. We have a nice house in a great neighborhood for kids. Our neighbors are all cool and the school that both Jake and Zoe attend is fantastic despite the heavy homework load. There is tons to do here and we do have a family camping trip to Pisgah National Forest in the mountains planned in a few short weeks. The weather here is fantastic and mild and we may even see some snow this winter.
Right now we are gearing up for Halloween, picking out costumes and such. Jane wants to be Jasmine the Disney princess and Zoe picked out a beautiful gold fairy costume. Jake doesn't think he will be trick or treating this year as he is thirteen. I am still doing a little work for NETA(National Educational Television Association) in Columbia by telecommute and am working on some new clients for graphic design. I'd really like to grow that business and have just picked up one paying and one pro bono project. Have one paying project in the proposal phase in Dallas.
The kids are making friends and being kids but seem to be adjusting to Charlotte just fine. Two moves in one year was heartbreaking and horrible and I hope we don't have to move again for a very long time.
